Past students and friends at Federation 2009

Loreto past students associations connect the past to the present. Involvement in the Loreto network keeps the spirit of Mary Ward alive and maintains the link between families, our schools and colleges, past and present students and the work of the Loreto Sisters.

Friendships are nurtured, family and school traditions are shared, and opportunities for spiritual growth are provided, networks created and philosophical views respected. Past students organise activities to support and maintain contact with the Loreto community, contribute to and play an active role in local, national and international affairs and give support to those in need.

Volunteering

Past pupils are increasingly becoming involved with Mary Ward International Australia (MWIA)- by organising fundraising and awareness raising events on social justice issues and by volunteering on development and education projects in rural remote Australia, India and Nepal. Find out how you can contribute your skills. Read about our current MWIA projects and find out more about volunteering.

Get in touch

We enjoy the legacy of our education with continuing friendships and access to a valuable resource network of Loreto women around the world. Most schools have a section for past students on their websites. The Loreto Schools Directory has a list of all the Loreto schools in Australia and below we have provided a list of all the 2011 past pupil presidents. Get in touch and reconnect today!

Mary Ward sculptureLoreto Federation

A group of dedicated past students and alumnae and development college staff are currently organising the next Loreto Federation event.

Federation is the coming together of the staff, past-students, family, and friends of Loreto schools from around Australia. It has been held every 2 years since its inception in 1955 when the first one was held at Loreto Mandeville Hall.

The Loreto family gathers to fulfil the vision of Mother Gonzaga Barry who wrote in 1897 of her desire for all Loreto girls to . Federate in a great league for a noble end..........to lend a helping hand to whatever is good and beautiful, noble and useful in the world around. To engender... enthusiasm for your cause..be earnest, be persevering, be humble and then with God's will you will succeed.

The 28th Conference of Loreto Federation of Australia
will be held in Perth from 4th to 6th May 2012.

The theme chosen for 2012 is:

STRIDING OUT IN FREEDOM AND LOVE

inspired by the striking and meaningful sculpture of Mary Ward by Meliesa Judge.
