Loreto Province Archive

The Province Archives is the Central Archives for the Australian Province of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Loreto, and holds records of Loreto foundations, missions and members since 1875.

The purpose of the Loreto Province Archives is to fulfil our legal and social responsibilities in the preservation of records of enduring value, to promote access to our cultural heritage by documenting and preserving relevant and historically significant records and artefacts and communicating the existence of this heritage to the I.B.V.M. and the wider community.

The Archives is located at the site of the first Loreto foundation in Australia in Ballarat.

The Archives Office is open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm.
