New Director, Finance & Business
We are delighted to announce that Ms Alison Brown has been appointed to the Director, Finance and Business role. Some of you may have already had the opportunity to meet Alison, as she has been assisting Loreto since 25 June, while the recruitment for the ongoing role was underway. Alison will take up the full responsibilities of the Director, Finance and Business role as of Monday, 3 September.
Alison has worked in chartered accounting for over 24 years, most recently as a partner at Deloitte for 11 years providing external audit and advisory services to a broad range of private clients and communities. During this time, she advised not-for-profit organisations in aged care, community health, disability and social services as well as State, Catholic and Independent schools and congregations, assisting them to establish appropriate controls, risk management frameworks and reporting processes. Her lengthy experience in supporting and working with the Sisters of St Joseph and the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Sion, has particular relevance for this role. Alison established and led the not-for-profit group within Deloitte Private for five years, setting the market strategy, building eminence, producing thought leadership and bringing the capabilities, skills and resources of the firm together, to deliver tailored and relevant services to the sector. She was a member of the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission Professional User Group from inception in 2012 to 2017.
A chartered accountant, Alison holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting)/Bachelor of Arts (Japanese) degree from Swinburne University, and is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Alison has mentored many young women over her career and is passionate about the benefits of educating women in the broader community. She is looking forward to continuing her work with the Loreto community.
On behalf of Loreto Australia & South-East Asia, we congratulate Alison on her appointment and look forward to the positive contribution she will no doubt bring to the Loreto community.
