Application Process

The application process assists both Loreto and you to discern your suitability to live a fulfilled and happy life as a Loreto Sister.

Women we seek are those who have a relationship with God and a passion to serve others, who are aware of their humanity and weakness but have the self-knowledge and openness that allows them to grow and be able to follow Jesus as one of us now and in the future.

The application process involves:

  • interviews with Loreto Sisters
  • letters of reference
  • psychological testing
  • medical examination
  • certificates of Baptism and Confirmation

All of the material is presented to the Province Leader of the Australia South East Asia Province who, in consultation with her Council, makes the final decision regarding admission to Candidacy.

Request Information Form

For further information about a Loreto vocation, please complete our  request information form.

What happens when someone is accepted?

The formation of a Loreto Sister is a priority because the quality of our apostolic service depends, in large measure, on a good and lasting preparation. While there are constants within the formation program, there is also flexibility so that it can be adapted to what is most relevant to the discernment and growth of each individual.

The stages of formation include:

  • Pre-Candidacy (for non-English speakers)
  • Candidacy
  • Novitiate
  • Temporary Profession
  • Final Profession
