Mission
Mission is at the heart of who we are, and love is the driving force that urges us on.
IBVM Constitutions Vol.ii 2.1
The shared Loreto vision is to progress God’s mission by:
- Reclaiming the freshness of the Gospel
- Bringing those forced to live in poverty to the centre of our life and ministry
- Going where the need is greatest
- Living sustainably
- Creating the oneness that moves us across boundaries
These Calls came from the Loreto Sisters international General Congregation in 2014.
The Loreto Sisters and their colleagues live these Calls by sharing gifts and skills, particularly through the empowerment of women enabling them to contribute with greater confidence to the common good.
Let your vocation be constant, efficacious and affectionate.

Our Ministries include:
- Education – in schools, adult education and educational support, with a particular focus on the education of girls.
- Social Ministries and Community Development – supporting all people to participate in society with dignity and equality and transforming structures and systems that keep people, particularly women and children, oppressed and marginalised.
- Justice – local and global networking advocating for a more just and equitable society.
