‘Care of the faith’ was fundamental to Mary Ward’s founding vision and mission, and continues today as central to the Loreto shared mission.
This ministry lies at the heart of a Loreto education and permeates the teaching and practices within all Loreto schools.
Other expressions of this ministry include chaplaincies, parish work, and pastoral care – accompanying people in times of difficulty, and sharing their joys and sorrows.
Faithful to our Ignatian spiritual tradition, Loreto sisters and their colleagues also offer spiritual direction and retreats, and work in the supervision and training of spiritual directors. They accompany individuals and communities in prayer and through numerous small groups which gather to explore more deeply their relationship with God.
