The first Register is a brown paper covered exercise book with entries for pupils of Loreto Convent Portland from the opening of the school in 1885 until 1945. Recorded is the pupil number, name, residence, age at entrance, arrival date, departure date, destination, date of birth and date of death. Dates of birth are not completed. Pages 1-9 of the register records boarders nos 1-335 and page 16 continues with nos 336-363. Pages 10-15 record day scholars Nos 1-162 from 1887-1945. Pages 18-23 record boy pupils.
