Overview
Established as a primary teacher training college for Loreto sisters in conjunction with the novitiate at Normanhurst. It was a one year course (equivalent to a 2 year course) following two and a half to three years in the novitiate. In the first year with only two students Kirribilli and Normanhurst schools were used for practice training. With five students in 1960, St. Agatha’s School Pennant Hills was also used for practise training. In 1961 permission was received to train for sub-primary registration. In 1963 the training college was in abeyance as there were no students. By 1969 there were few students requiring primary teacher training and alternatives places of teacher training were available.
