Sr Mary Baulderstone ibvm retires after a decade of service with ACRATH
Sr Mary Baulderstone ibvm has retired after almost 10 years at the ACRATH National Office in Melbourne. The ACRATH team are grateful for her service and said Mary ‘kept the wheels turning with grace and good humour.’
Mary’s journey with ACRATH began in 2016 when she stepped in as a volunteer assistant to the National Executive Officer, Christine Carolan. Since the COVID outbreak, Mary has worked mostly from home and focused on safeguarding and related issues.
When asked to summarise her time at ACRATH, Mary said “it was eye-opening regarding human trafficking and enriching working with so many dedicated and generous people. It has been a privileged time for me. ACRATH is a small group taking small but important steps to educate people and ultimately to effect change in our society.”
Though she has stepped back from her role, Mary remains an ACRATH Member, continuing her connection with the cause.
Christine Carolan, outgoing ACRATH Executive Officer, praised Mary’s quiet strength and enduring contribution.
“Loreto Sisters have made a global commitment to working to tackle human trafficking – especially meaningful as we mark the 150th year of Loreto in Australia. Mary’s faithful contribution over the past decade is a beautiful example of that commitment lived out in action.”
